Tokyo Institute of Technology 東京工業大学
- Tokyo, Japan 東京都
The Tokyo Institute of Technology’s graduate programs does not necessarily require Japanese proficiency and so may be a good choice for students who want the opportunity to study in an international setting but may not have the time or inclination to learn the Japanese language.
However, because the Institute’s undergraduate programs require that students to take EJU tests in science and Japanese language (students can choose to take the science test(s) in either English or Japanese). Those programs may be a good choice for those who have studied the Japanese language and are interested in gaining experience in using it in their science or technology careers.
The Tokyo Institute of Technology, as its name suggests, is a science and technology-focused school. It is known for its state-of-the-art equipment and its accomplished researchers.
Two of the Institute’s three campuses are a half hour or less from Tokyo Station, and its third campus is only about an hour away. For students looking to experience all the faces of modern big city Tokyo, from Akihabara’s “Electric Town” to Shibuya’s musically and culturally avant-garde scene to the ancient and incredibly maintained Sensoji Temple, this school may be a great choice.
